The business began with wedding cakes as the prime focus. My wish was to learn how to make incredible sugar work that is so classically associated with them. This skill set is a real art form and makes your cake ‘next level’ in its finish.
Many happy hours, days or even weeks can be spent creating flower upon flower. Equally the same can be said when hand painting on cake, I simply adore this medium. The marvellous thing about including sugar flowers in your design is they can be kept post wedding as a lovely memory of your special day.
I go all out to make the process of your wedding cake order as enjoyable and seamless as possible; it receives my full attention throughout.
Selecting your cake flavour is just as important as the design, because naturally it’s got to taste as good as it looks. Only the best ingredients are used including organic flour from Shipton and Mill, the finest Belgian chocolate from Callebaut and only ever free-range, happy eggs.
Flavours are kept as classic as possible, but suggestions are always welcomed. Fondant covered cakes include a layer of white chocolate ganache beneath, sealing the cake further and evening out any colour differences in multiple flavoured tiers.
Wedding cakes are finished in fondant or ganache and very occasionally buttercream (this is weather dependent). Naked cakes are not supplied.
Classic pillow soft vanilla sponge with vanilla bean buttercream and raspberry preserve.

Beautifully soft red velvet sponge with vanilla bean buttercream and dark ganache.

Decadent rich fruit cake doused many times over with French brandy and iced with marzipan and soft sugarpaste. Sophie’s great grandmothers’ recipe!
*Please note fruit cakes need to be ordered at least 6 weeks in advance. They also cannot be included in tastings.
Other buttercream flavours on offer (season dependant) – passion fruit & mango, ginger, raspberry, blackberry, lime, salted caramel.
Please discuss any allergies or dietary requirements before booking. Gluten free options are available however please be aware that all products are baked and prepared in a kitchen which handles all the main allergens – gluten (wheat), dairy, egg and nuts. The kitchen is not a certified allergy free work space. Eggless or dairy free options cannot be catered for.
As all cakes are bespoke, they come with a bespoke price tag. The price of your cake is determined on certain requirements, such as size and flavour but ultimately, it’s the intricacy of design and amount of sugar flowers required.
There is a minimum spend of £500 for wedding cake orders, this doesn’t include delivery/set up. Smaller two-tier cakes can indulge with sugar work as opposed to having fresh florals, and perhaps add biscuits to the order.

"I have worked with Sophie for 4 years now... No ask is too small or too big, she will always nail a brief with gorgeous designs and options to choose from. So much care and attention to detail is taken, no fuss is made, she is a total joy to work with. Her sugar work is outstanding and something to behold. I would highly recommend Sophie to anyone wanting to not only devour delicious cake but to slice up and serve a masterpiece!"
